Day of Caring

Annually in February, hundreds of folks from the community converge on the ARC Marion campus for a literal “Day of Caring.”  Sponsored by the United Way of Marion County, this day is when our campus is literally transformed, thanks to volunteers from Lockheed Martin and community businesses and organizations.

Adorned in long-sleeved blue shirts on a chilly February morning in 2012, families and friends of Lockheed Martin chose ARC Marion for their annual Day of Caring project recipients.  This is the 12th year Lockheed has partnered with ARC on this special day. (See the Photos)

They tackled painting jobs, planting trees, new playground equipment and bench installation (and bench demolition) and more.  As United Way’s saying goes “What a difference a day makes!” We couldn’t agree more.  Thank you to all who participated in this year’s Day of Caring.  Your efforts overwhelm us year after year!
